Caroline Arthur is an experienced British couture designer dressmaker, and creator of Couture Kit, which allows you to express your bespoke wedding dress design on a simple web app.
Being able to draw out the creative ideas from a bride is one of the pure pleasures of a wedding dress designer. Caroline’s approach is careful and practical – mindful that as a bride, you’re trying to keep a lot of people happy, and the contentment of your love ones is as important to us as it is to you.
Caroline is fascinated by what each individual bride sees when she looks in the mirror, and is always supportive and encouraging. Experience has shown her that once a bride is relaxed and comfortable in a creative environment, then her ideas surface swiftly, and her growing confidence is what makes this job so rewarding.
All Caroline’s bespoke bridal gowns are made in Britain, only in the finest fabrics, with exquisite attention to detail. It has taken years of dedication to develop relationships with the best suppliers in the UK.
We are very proud to be in partnership with the National Trust, with whom we have a collaboration to help grow support for this exceptional charity, ensuring Britain’s historic homes, coastline and countryside are looked after for generations to come.
Caroline has been hand-making bespoke wedding dresses for creative and thoughtful brides for over 15 years. She studied Couture Bridal wear at the London College of Fashion, and grew up in a family of dressmakers.
Caroline also has a degree in Italian from Lancaster University, spent a year in Florence, enjoyed 10 years working for Monsoon in the 1990s, and lives with her young family near Guildford in Surrey.
“…My father was an architect, and so from an early age, I was surrounded by an awareness and appreciation of good design, even before venturing into the world of fashion. Childhood holidays at home in Surrey were often spent at our sewing machine, and I was really taught to sew by my mother…”
