Real bride Lein in her pale blue bespoke gown

When Lein first came to our London bridal shop at Ham House in Richmond, to talk about her ideas for her bespoke wedding dress, we were so inspired by her fresh and colourful vision for her gown and her Spring wedding.

We had already seen her initial design idea, which she had emailed through to us with our “design your own wedding dress” app, on our website, to this gave us an idea of the kind of silhouette she was looking for.

At the boutique, Lein tried on a number of different bodice and skirt styles, to ensure she was happy with the design, and then we drew up a sketch for her to take away, with fabric samples.

This creative bride really wanted to reflect her love of pastel colours in her dress, so she selected from our collection, a gorgeous ice blue satin fabric, with a very delicate ivory embroidered tulle, with tiny ivory daisies. Put together, these looks breath-taking, and suited Lein’s fair colouring perfectly.

Lein explained she was from the Netherlands, but lives in London and so the plan was for there to be small, intimate ceremony at Pembroke Lodge in Richmond, and then a larger party in the Netherlands, at the stunning location of Wilmersberg, de Lutte.

The bride wanted to wear her bespoke wedding dress at both occasions, and had some lovely ideas about the design, to ensure it looked delicate and light, but was warm enough for a fresh Spring day.

The gown was made as a boned, sweetheart bodice, with elegant knee-length A line skirt, all of which had the light embroidered over-layer. The bride wore beautiful simple shoes from Rainbow Club.

Lein’s new husband, Ben, loved her simple elegant gown, and the amazingly talented florists, both in London (Louise Temple) and Wilmersberg (Marion Jansen), created the most stunning bouquets and floral arrangements for the wedding.

And what better excuse to have two cakes?? Both absolute masterpieces, and reflected sill the colour palette, lightness of touch and a little humour. Elle Gerrish made the cake for the ceremony in London, and Anouk Krabbenbos for the party in the Netherlands.

Many thanks to the wonderful photographers for the kind use of the photos: Olivia Shaw of Shawshots in London, and in the Netherlands: Lizet Beek.
