FOR COMPLETE BEGINNERS!

Let’s transform the way you see your old wedding dress.

I would love to eliminate any guilt you feel about having your dress lurking in the shadows for years, and recognize it as a meaningful creative goldmine!

You can use this method with any treasured garment that is currently hidden away and turn it into keepsakes you can enjoy for years to come.

Starting with how to thread a needle, I will guide you through the technique step by step. We'll practise first on an old tea towel or rag, and I'll provide tips and tricks along the way to ensure success.

Get ready to unleash your creativity and make a unique decoration for your Christmas tree or a personalised gift for your loved ones!

This workshop includes a full video tutorial in case you miss the date, want to re-visit any of the tips, or jwould like to sew-along with me, pausing when you need to.

FAQ’s

1. Do you need to know how to sew to do this workshop?

No my friend, you don't! And you don’t need a sewing machine either.

If you can sew on a button then you're already streets ahead, but I will show you every step, starting with how to thread a needle and tie a knot in the thread.

2. What if I don’t have an old wedding dress?

It doesn't matter - you can use the fabric from any garment you have, but for something as special as Christmas tree decorations that you'll use every year, it's nice to choose a piece of fabric that has some meaning to you - especially if it's been unloved and in a cupboard or the loft for years!

3. How much room do I need for this workshop?

I have designed this workshop so you can do the whole workshop on a tray on your lap. Put the kettle on! If you want to spread out on a table, that works too, but the nature of bauble making is that it you can stop and start when you have time, rather than feeling you have to do it all in one go.

4. What materiaLs will I need?

When you book the course, I'll email you a PDF of the kit list. But the main things are an old shoe box (to keep the project in while you're making it if you need to stop and start), needle, thread, scissors, fabric - start with an old tea towel or spare fabric + some beads if you have some.
