How I can help you
As a bespoke bridal gown designer and dressmaker, Caroline specializes in re-styling, fitting and adjusting all kinds of ready-made wedding dresses, and is recommended by a number of luxury bridal boutiques in the Surrey and London area.
She can customize your bridal gown, and also create the perfect sash, shrug, strap or sleeve to enhance your gown.
Your fitting and adjustments will be carried out by her personally at her atelier in Wildacre, near Guildford, which is easily accessible with plenty of parking.
An experienced dressmaker
“..With over 20 years experience as a bridal gown designer and seamstress, I come from a family of dressmakers so was really taught to sew by my mother. I went on to train in Couture Bridal wear at the London College of Fashion, and now run my business and atelier from the comfort and seclusion of leafy Surrey, where some of my brides will come for their fittings…”
How to book your wedding dress fitting
For wedding dress alteration appointments, please contact me at email@example.com as soon as possible to chat about your requirements.
It is important to ensure your weight is as stable as possible before your appointment, and that you have the shoes and bra (if you’re intending to wear one). Usually a bride will come to see me around 8 – 10 weeks before the wedding, so I can ensure the fit and finishing is perfect, and the dress ready to collect the month before the big day. But to avoid missing out, please get in touch as soon as you can to book an appointment.
“…I work by private appointment only, and try to be as flexible as possible to make it easy for you, including some evening and weekend availability. It is essential that a bride is available to come for fitting (s), in order for it to be possible to complete the work needed…”
Fittings and prices
Fittings should take around 45 minutes, and are absolutely free. You’re welcome to bring a friend or family member with you, and I recommend choosing just one person to come and support you, so you can feel as relaxed and calm as possible.
Prices for bridal gown alterations vary depending on the fabric and design of the wedding dress, as well as the work required. Usually wedding dress alterations (for example shortening the bridal gown hem and taking in a boned bodice) will cost from £185. I will let you know at your fitting how much the bridal alteration will be, as this can vary, up to around £450 should there be a large amount of embellishment involved, or a fabric such as chiffon, which requires careful handling.
